Today in the shower I was thinking about the possibility of infinity, and realized how difficult it would be to prove that a thing such as infinity actually exists. Considering that entropy seems to affect everything it would seem that nothing sustains infinity. Once it was said to me that infinity isn't an endless time but an endless list of possibilities. Using that definition I still question the likelihood of infinity--basically, I feel that it is impossible to prove infinity in a finite system. Humans live within a finite system, so thus we cannot prove the existence of infinity.
I was also considering how a game of chess is very much a finite system. In the end one could chart out all the possible moves from any position on the board, and because of this something that would be able to catalogue these positions could win any game. Because of this I am now afraid of playing chess against my computer thank you very much.
