I don't know, why do you bother to read a book, especially a second time? Most books are extremely formulaic and cliche. In fact most books can be summarized in a sentence, so why bother to read them? Sure you can say the experience of it all, but the experience of jacking off is just as productive. And at least with masturbation you have something to show for it. So basically philosophy in general is a way of expanding our horizons while wasting time. It's enjoyable because you can quickly enter a mental game of chess trying to outsmart your opponent. And who knows, maybe someone will get it right.
