It's our fault. It was close, but we lost by millions, and it's our fault because we did nothing but go to the polling place where everyone agreed with us anyway and put a check in a box.

That was my total contribution to America on election day: showing up.

The worst part is that the guilt and shame is already fading. It's like I got turned down after asking a girl on a date. Que sera. Except now more people will die because I didn't do enough. Worse than that is the fact that we're regressing socially to a point of straight-up Christianity, and that's going to happen more and more with funding for education going to crap, especially in the "poor ignorant fucker" parts of the U.S., leaving people no place to turn for answers except the Bible.

So, yeah, in a completely unironic turn of events, we, the idle left, got our asses kicked by the somewhat determined zealots and their cynical overlords. More of them showed up. They many did it for God, the few for money, but they all did their part.
