I think that's the point of Sartre's existentialism. Further studies into existentialism take a completely different perspective upon things, but in Sartre's form we find that you are in fact for everything that happens in the world. Sartre calls it bad faith not to try to improve a situation that you are unhappy with, so the next step seems to be trying to improve the world so that you do not shun this responsibility, but simply accept it and try to make things happier for yourself and others. Maybe the ultimate goal in existentialism is the group responsibility for the well being and happiness of man. The weaker sex can suffer on her own.
