As it stands I feel a resurganec in nhylism for myself, so right now nothing matters. Especially considering that Peter Jackson has changed the ending of 'The Two Towers'. So basically it doesn't matter. Nothing matters.

As for the 'nothing follows' idea isn't that the basis of Buddhism, and basically Hinduism also. These are two religions where nothing follows, and your goal seems to be (especially in Buddhism) is to end change and to just be. Acheiving nirvana really means that nothing else follows.
Also a significantly large number of atheists seem to deny the idea that we're spawn of some impossible being. Atheism seems to be a way of sticking your chin out at religion in general and saying 'I will not accept a lie!' (in your best Sir William Wallace voice).
So I think that atheism isn't just a single form of living your life. Atheism is just a general term for having no god in your belief.
Or is your nothing follows argument talking about an afterlife, or a general statement on the atheist life?
