At the start of 2012 Monad Railway Equipment begins its 27th year of service to the rail community.

A special event occurred at Monad’s annual New Year’s eve celebration. In 1937 Santa Fe launched the Super Chief -2 and one of the cars in that consist was the Budd built lounge/dormitory Acoma. The Acoma has been at the Monad shop undergoing major repair and restoration. For this years party the Acoma was moved to Riverside, CA and the party was held aboard. Soon the car will return to service, once again carrying passengers in the luxury that Santa Fe made famous on the Train of the Stars.
