I agree for the most part with BDR--but I've found that people in general are unhealthy regardless of being a vegetarian or not. Meat eaters are commonly overweight, and vegetarians don't eat properly. Take my brother (please!) for example, here we have Kafka's 'Hunger Artist' if I've ever seen it. Alergic to milk, soy, and wheat--did I mention he's not a fan of veggies and fruits? Add to this fact that he doesn't eat meat and we have a bean and rice mofo. Now any nutritionist could tell you that no man could survive on rice and beans alone. He's generally an active guy (hookin up the hoops, and the women, and whatnot) but like most vegetarians do not maintain a healthy lifestyle.
So basically what I'm getting at is that we're a nation of unhealthy bastards, and unlike BDR we can't all perform in such a healthy manner. Because of this it becomes difficult for vegetarians who don't necessarily dislike the taste (and sensation) of meat to stay vegetarians. And because of this vegetarianism (much like the punk lifestyle) becomes a very self-destructive paradox of healthy eating versus morality.
On that note I'm off to go fishing.
