I've decided to surrender the "Seperation of Church and State" argument to the religious extremists. I believe the wording is along the lines of "no law regarding an establishment of religion, nor the prohibition thereof," so as much as I think that religion helps facilitate a lot of the world's problems, I think that the line, as it's drawn, is flawed.

I don't think that we can politically quarantine religion in a free society (we're not doing a very good job of it anyway.) It needs to be allowed into the open so that it can be fought on a level field. If the dimwits of this country collectively decide that they want to teach kids that the earth is 6000 years old or a giant old dude made them from clay, that's their perogative. Blah de blah de blah by the consent of the governed.

I guess, ideally, there would be no special rights or restrictions based on religion, just straight-up law.

I hate this country.
